Joseph in "Crouch Pose' drawn by Molly Johnson
Academy of Fine Art, Denmark, Wisconsin
This pose was chosen as an homage to the The Art Model's Handbook by Andrew Cahner,
and to the oil painting that graces it's cover: "Trois Couleurs Noir," by Antoine de Villers.
Welcome to DrawJoseph.com
My name is Joseph Vignieri, and I am a professional life model. I live in SE Wisconsin, and model throughout the east side of the state. As of the launch of this website (9/7/18) I have modeled for 3 years at over 40 different locations, completing 485 sessions.
I am passionate about art in general, and figure art specifically. Figure artists and models practice an ancient craft, with skills fundamental to so many other forms of art. If you draw, paint, or sculpt from the figure, or if you model for artists who do, then this website was designed specifically for you.
In the drop-down menus you will find many items of interest: specialty links for artists, advice for models, artwork created by “my artists” in the Joseph Collection, an Artist's Upload Gallery containing "Joseph" pieces done by artists from all over, and finally… my thoughts on art and life on the Musings page.
If you like this website I hope you'll bookmark it, and tell your friends! I'll try to keep new content coming, and respond to all your comments, uploads and suggestions.
If you’re looking for something you think should be here but isn’t, please let me know. Your comments and ideas are always welcome.
If you have created a "Joseph" art piece from my posing, I would love for you to snap a pic with your smartphone and upload it. I need at least who/when/where, and you will be given a ‘by’ line in the gallery. Every 1st of the month, I will pick a favorite upload and send a scholarship of $100 along with an offer to buy the piece. Good luck!
My artists are solid gold to me ... many blessings and good fortune to all!
“It is essential to do the same subject over again, ten times, a hundred times.
Nothing in art must seem to be chance, not even movement.”
~Edgar Degas
